The family has a photograph of a similar painting that was hung in John Dixons home and a number of sketches from John Dixons estate in support
of the facts that he is the artist of this work "The Adoration of the Shepherds"
Family members have been told that this painting had been gifted to the church of St Michael the Archangel, Abertillery, Caerphilly,
during the period of 1919/1922 and 1941. During the time frame of April 2018,the Vicar and a Church Warden
has verified that the painting had been painted by a brewer by the name of John Dixon.
